Arah Kinetic Movement Therapy is a welcoming Pilates studio & health hub located in beautiful Doonan on the Sunshine Coast
We are a dedicated Functional Pilates training facility specialising in private, semi-private studio sessions and small personalised Mat classes.
Our goal is to support clients on their individual journey through movement as therapy. We aim to educate clients on the fundamentals of Pilates and functional movement patterns, while improving core & muscle strength, increasing mobility, flexibility, easing body ailments and calming busy minds.
Our Functional Pilates studio is ideal for those looking for smaller classes offering, a more tailored approach to specific needs rather than a large reformer studio or gym environment.
FAQ’s About The Pilates Studio
If you have any other questions we haven’t answered below, please reach out to us.
-
Yes - but we're much more than a traditional Reformer Pilates studio.
At Arah Kinetic Movement Therapy, we use the Reformer as one of several pieces of specialised Pilates equipment, alongside the Cadillac, Wunda Chair and other apparatus. Our sessions focus on improving mobility, stability, flexibility, core strength, posture, balance, body awareness and movement quality through personalised Pilates programming.
Where appropriate, we also incorporate functional strength training using free weights and a functional trainer (cable machine) to complement your Pilates program and help you achieve your individual goals.
Rather than everyone performing the same workout, every session is individually tailored to your body, goals and any injuries or movement limitations. Whether you're recovering from injury, managing pain, improving movement or looking to enhance your overall wellbeing, your program is designed specifically for you.
-
Absolutely not. It's never too late to start Pilates.
At Arah Kinetic Movement Therapy, we work with clients of all ages and abilities, from those looking to stay active and maintain independence through to clients recovering from injury or simply wanting to move with greater confidence.
Because our Functional Pilates programs are individually tailored, we meet you where you're at. Your Initial Consultation allows us to assess your movement, discuss your goals and create a program that is appropriate for your body, fitness level and any existing injuries or health conditions. Pilates isn't about keeping up with everyone else - it's about improving your own movement, strength, mobility and overall wellbeing at a pace that's right for you.
-
Many of our clients come to us with multiple injuries, chronic pain or complex movement concerns. Functional Pilates can be an excellent way to support recovery, improve movement and begin to rebuild strength. However, every injury and health condition is different, which is why we take an individualised approach.
Before joining our Functional Pilates classes, all new clients complete a one-on-one Initial Consultation. During this assessment, we'll discuss your injury history, medical history, movement patterns, current symptoms and goals so we can design a program that's safe and tailored specifically to you.
If you have an acute injury, have recently had surgery or have a complex medical condition, we may ask for guidance or clearance from your GP, physiotherapist or other treating health professional before you begin. This collaborative approach helps ensure your exercise program supports your recovery safely and effectively.
If you're unsure whether Pilates is right for your injury, we'd be happy to discuss your individual circumstances before you book.

Regular Pilates helps improve strength, posture, flexibility, balance and overall body awareness while developing better movement patterns for everyday life.
Our personalised approach also supports injury prevention and rehabilitation by targeting your individual needs rather than using a one-size-fits-all program. Many clients experience reduced aches and pains, improved mobility, increased confidence in movement and better overall physical function.
Beyond the physical benefits, Pilates encourages mindful movement and focused breathing, helping reduce stress, improve concentration and leave you feeling more balanced and energised.
